Funding the Gap, Start to Finish
Building a Campaign for Year-End or a Special Project
A working session, not a seminar.
Most fundraising training leaves you with notes. This one leaves you with a campaign.
Over four hours we’ll work through five pieces together — you’ll draft each one for your own situation, with time to think, write, and talk it through with other missionaries in the room. Whether you’re carrying a shortfall you’ve been living with, planning a year-end campaign, or raising funds for a specific project, the work is the same and you’ll do it here rather than promising yourself you’ll do it later.
-
01
People partner with what God is doing, not with a budget
Naming what your funding makes possible in someone’s life
-
02
Ask for what the work actually costs
The full number, including what usually gets left out
-
03
Everybody’s ask is nobody’s ask
Sorting your partners and deciding what you’re inviting each group into
-
04
Partnership is a conversation, not an announcement
How many times each group hears from you, and how
-
05
Gratitude belongs on the calendar too
The timeline, worked backward, with thank-yous already scheduled
You’ll leave with a campaign, not a to-do list.
-
A need story and an impact story, written
Opening line, closing line, and the points in between
-
A vision for what you’re raising
What it’s for and what it will accomplish
-
Three to five specific outcomes
What your funding makes possible
-
Three to five strategies
How you’ll get there
-
A funding goal and a suggested ask
The full number, and the number you name
-
A timeline
Worked backward from your deadline
-
Your contacts segmented
With dates for when each group hears from you
Missionaries raising support who have something specific in front of them: a year-end campaign, a project that needs funding, or a gap that hasn’t closed on its own. You don’t need fundraising experience. You do need to bring your actual situation — the numbers, the names, the need.
